Whether you can take Tadalafil at the same time as your other medications will depend on which medications you are taking.
You are required to complete a short medical consultation questionnaire that asks for any medications that you are prescribed from your GP and will indicate the medications that can’t be taken alongside Tadalafil.
There are several medicines which should not be taken concurrently with Tadalafil. Medicines which can have potentially serious interactions with Tadalafil include :-
• Any alpha-blocker medicines e.g. doxazosin (Cardura), alfuzosin (Xatral), tamsulosin, terazosin, or Flomax, that you can buy in the pharmacy. (These medicines may be used to treat prostate problems or high blood pressure).
• Isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, or use a GTN spray or tablets
for chest pain or use Rectogesic ointment?
• Nicorandil (Ikorel), used to treat angina
• Cimetidine, used to treat stomach or duodenal (peptic) ulcers
• Theophylline, used to treat asthma
• Antibiotics:- Clarithromycin, Erythromycin and Telithromycin
• Anti-fungals such as itraconazole and ketoconazole
• Seizure medication:- carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin and primidone
• Heart or blood pressure medication:- disopyramide, amiodarone, quinidine and procainamide
• Anti-viral medication:- telaprevir, atazanavir, retonavir, indinavir, saquinavir and cobicistat
• Recreational drugs:- amyl nitrate (poppers)
If you are taking any prescribed medication from your GP then you can simply write those in the “Is there any other medical information that you think our doctor should know?” section on the medical questionnaire. Then, our doctor will know whether the Tadalafil is safe for you to take.

I take only the alpha-blocker medicines e.g. cardura, alfuzosin (Cardura), tamsulosin, or terazosin (These medicines are used to treat prostate problems or high blood pressure). If you are taking Tadalafil as you are taking riociguat, then it is important that you take the dose at least 30 minutes after you have you finished taking a tablet. The regimens in which this can be used are similar to those used for other therapies, so the healthcare professional can safely increase the dose of Tadalafil before you take the therapy.
Make sure you table all your medications.
''I’m a GP so I don’t think it’s safe for my patients to take Tadalafil without doctor’s advice.’If you are taking Tadalafil as you are taking riociguat, then there is a possibility that the regimens may be different for you depending on the type of treatment you are taking.
If you have changed the dose of your medication, your doctor will change the dosage over time and check you carefully for any side effects.
For example, you may get side effects like the one or two unwanted digestive symptoms which you may have had from taking Tadalafil. If these last, then you may need to take the medication twice as long as you have been taking with your other medications.
How to change the dose of TadalafilIf you are taking Tadalafil as you are taking riociguat, then the dose of regimens may need to be changed over time before the results of your study are straight to effect information.

The U. S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a recall of Cialis (tadalafil) tablets and capsules due to the presence of a “black box warning” from the FDA.
The black box warning is the most severe warning issued by the agency in 2018, which is contained in two doses: 5 mg and 10 mg, or 2.5 mg, depending on the strength of the tablets and the condition of the patient.
The agency said this recall is part of the ongoing investigation into the potential health risks and the continued efforts to address the issue. The FDA has identified “black box warnings” for tadalafil and Cialis (tadalafil) in several generic versions of the drug, including Cialis 5 mg, Cialis 10 mg and Cialis 20 mg. The FDA has also issued warnings regarding the risk of adverse reactions when taken with tadalafil.
Cialis 5 mg tablets have a black box warning that warns of an increased risk of a rare but potentially life-threatening condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia, a condition that can cause significant discomfort and difficulty in urinating. This increased risk is more pronounced in men aged 45 and older.
The FDA has also issued a black box warning for Cialis 20 mg tablets, which is not included in this recall.
The FDA has also recalled two of its tablets and capsules. The FDA said it has also issued a black box warning for tadalafil in the following strengths: 10 mg, 20 mg and 40 mg, and Cialis 5 mg and 10 mg tablets and capsules.
The FDA said the affected strengths are marketed as being in the lower and middle doses and are marketed as being lower doses than Cialis 5 mg and Cialis 10 mg tablets and capsules.
The FDA has warned that the risks of Tadalafil (tadalafil) may be higher in individuals aged 20 to 64 years and in those over 65 years.
“There is a risk that these tablets and capsules may contain undeclared Tadalafil, which could lead to potentially harmful drug interactions,” said Thomas McElroy, FDA’s senior medical officer. “The safety and efficacy of Tadalafil in these groups cannot be guaranteed, and there is a risk to the public if these tablets or capsules are misbranded or misused.”

Tadalafil belongs to the group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors, primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Erectile dysfunction is the inability to keep a hard and erect penis suitable for sexual activity. Benign prostatic hyperplasia, also called prostate enlargement, is the non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland.
Tadalafil contains ‘Tadalafil’, which works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis; this allows the blood to flow into the penis when the person is sexually excited. Thereby, it helps to treat erectile dysfunction. Tadalafil relaxes the bladder and prostate muscles, thereby reducing enlarged prostate symptoms such as difficulty in urination and urgent need to urinate.
You are advised to take Tadalafil for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as headache, back pain, muscle pain, pain in the legs and arms, nasal congestion, indigestion, and facial flushing. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not take Tadalafil if you are taking nitrates (used to treat angina), riociguat (used to treat pulmonary hypertension) or alpha-blockers; if you have heart problems or stroke, low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure. Tadalafil is not intended for use in women. Tadalafil may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. Tadalafil should not be given to children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and the medicines you are taking to avoid unpleasant side effects.

Tadalafil should not be taken with nitrates (used to treat erectile dysfunction) or alpha-blockers; if you experience back pain, dizziness, or pain while taking Tadalafil, stop having them and seek medical attention.
Tadalafil should not be taken if you are taking riociguat or other medicines to treat pulmonary hypertension or other conditions affecting the blood pressure in the lungs (such as chest pain or dizziness).
